With a digital format like a DVD, the images will not degrade over time, which is possible with films, slides and prints. Disk are not as sensitive to dusk, dirt, moisture or humidity. A disk should last well over a 100 years. This gives you a greater chance of sharing your legacy with your children. You can add music and make your viewing experience more enjoyable.

Question: Why should I not make my own DVD?
Well yes you can. First you have to buy a program, but which one? Then you have to take time to learn the program, and s pend hours copy, retouching, cutting and pasting music and then burning a DVD.

Question: Is your DVD compatible with all players?
This DVD is compatible with most players that have been manufactured within the past few years. Some of the older players may have trouble reading the disk.

Questions: Do you offer music?
No, because of copyright laws you are responsible for all images and music chosen to be incorporated in the DVD. You must have the right for the music and images that you supply to me.

Questions: Can I submit the negatives or slides of my photos?
No negatives or memory chips, but you can submit slides, photos, digital CDS of photos.

Question:How many songs can I use?
In general 25 pictures 1-2 songs, 50 pictures 2-4 songs, 100 pictures 5-8 songs. It depends on the length of your music.

Question:How long does it take to receive my DVD?
Normal turnaround time from the time you place the order until you receive your personal DVD is 4-6 weeks. PRIORITY-RUSH orders are available for an additional charge, a price will be quoted to you.


Types of photos to use.

If you are using your own scanned photos please make sure that they are a minimum of ( 800 dpi ) or taken with a digital camera of ( 3+ megs ) would be better, the pictures should at least be 720 horizontal X 480 vertical pixels. Standard size photographs will work but larger is better, up to an 8 X 10.<1> ( Please remember that a poor low quality picture will not show up any better and usually the results are undesirable.) Please save your scanned images as a jpeg. Try to use more horizontal pictures than vertical ones. The reason is the TV screens are wider than they are high, so horizontal shots fill the screen better.

Choose pictures that are bright and sharp that show character and personality, as well as photos that have groups and action in them to reveal the important moments. Please remember to place your photos in the order that you desire (renaming them 001, 002, 003, etc.)

With your DVD show there are added special effects, transitions, from picture to picture so the pictures move smooth and slow the entire show. The transitions add an element of movement and life to your production.

A photo show of 50 pictures is about 15 to 20 minutes, while a show with 100 pictures or more could last 45 minutes.

If your DVD is received damaged through shipping (broken), I will gladly replace the DVD with the return of the damaged product. You are responsible for shipping it back.


I am not responsible for lost our stolen articles while in transit ( via U.S. Mail or other delivery methods), so you may wish to insure your delivery. Please make sure you have a back-up of your pictures. If you do not have negatives of the prints, you may wish to make a back-up using the Kodak Picture Maker that is available at most drug stores.
